Are you familiar with Meal Preppen? We are a fan and like to apply this in our daily life! But what exactly is "Meal Prep"?

Are you familiar with Meal Preppen? We are a fan and like to apply this in our daily life! But what exactly is "Meal Prep"?

With Meal Preppen you prepare for example 6 days the three main meals (and possibly snacks), so you do not have to prepare the food on the day. This can be useful when you are short on time. Meal prepping has several advantages that you can view below.

 

1. Save your precious time

Instead of preparing your lunch every morning and preparing your dinner every evening, cook your breakfast, lunch and dinner for 6 days. This takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on the recipes of that week. In addition, you will get faster and faster with preparing your weekly meals.

 

2. Help fight food waste

By preparing the main meals in one go for six days a week, you can avoid food waste, for example by processing that large cauliflower or bag of green beans for the whole week.

 

3. Eat healthy with Meal Prep

You have your meals ready, so you are less likely to be tempted to eat something else. Meal Prep does not mean that you are necessarily dieting, but that you have meals in reasonable portions with balanced dishes. You are less likely to get hunger and this will make you less likely to snack. You control what you are going to eat.

 

4. Save money with Meal Prep

Because you have prepared the main meals for six days, you no longer have to buy those expensive lunches or last-minute take-away meals. In addition, with your prepared meals you have no reason to eat and / or buy something unhealthy on the go. By buying what you need that week, you don't buy unnecessary food.
